Stripping the car.

Stripping a car to bare metal is difficult job, specially if you want to keep all the bits an pieces together with the car, and not damage all the trim that come of. Lee, started to remove all the chrome. You can slide the chrome trim from the rear windows simply to the rear end of the car.

With a knife you can remove the rubber stripping from the doors. If you do a proper paint job you must remove them. The rubber that is left behind can be removed with some thinner, or sticker remover.

Its been a long time since the engine saw any daylight, some pictures of the engine can be seen below.

The sound deadening material from the bonnet is been removed and ended up in the bin because it was beyond saving. A nice alternative solution can be bought in the DIY shops, the foam that can be used for sound protection inside the house can be glued onto the inside from the bonnet.

This is an area of the SD1 we all know, and here is it where the problems start sooner or later. Wondering how you are going to repair this if you don't remove the complete window, we be watching the result.

But I must admit, this is a very nice piece of engineering! Brand new!
