Fitting
the interior part of the sunroof.
From the outside of the car, slide the rear part of the roof onto the guide rails, the clamps were marked and slackened off first. Once it is in place the clamps were then fitted back into their original position and tightened up.
The roof was then put in a closed position. Next thing to do is to refit the cable clamps, These come from the electric motor in the boot and up along the roof. The cables fit onto the centre positions on the roof panel. These too, were marked prior to removal. Once these are in place, open the sunroof to about the halfway position.
Next is to fit the front guide rail clamps, as before these were marked prior to removal. Providing that you have marked all the clamps and fixings before removing the sunroof panel, problems should be minimal when refitting the sunroof.
Checking was done by use of a small handle that is located in the sunroof motor cover. Remove the cover and insert in the end of the motor. Turning clockwise to close and anti clockwise to open the roof. Do this several times to make sure the roof operates correctly. Providing everything is okay, as a rough guide, there should be around 3-4mm of sideways freeplay in the roof panel all the way along travel. Tight spots along its travel can cause unnecessary wear on the guide rails and may stretch the cables.
